Biography

- Karin Lynn Neuvirth
I was born and raised in Minnesota on a family farm near Austin. Growing up on the farm, I developed both a respect for nature and an appreciation of wide open spaces. Winters here in the Midwest have always been difficult for me, but have caused me to have such an appreciation of the other 3 seasons of the year that I have a difficult time expressing it in words – but in my paintings, the colors can tell the story with great enthusiasm. I now try to view the cold quiet days of winter as a time of peacefulness in which I can refocus my energy.
Although I have typically focused my paintings on subjects of nature and landscapes, I have recently begun to expand onto other subjects that also touch my emotions, such as music and the people around me. Life is so full of things yet to be discovered!
I try to play an active role in promoting the arts in my local community. Currently I sell my Paintings at local galleries and at Regional Art Festivals, and she is on the board of directors for the SEMVA Cooperative Gallery. I have been accepted into and sold my work at several juried shows, and in 2008, I won an award for Best of Show at the Green Lake Art Festival in Green Lake Wisconsin. In 2009 several of my paintings were purchased and are on display at the Olmsted Community Medical Center in Rochester, MN.
