I painted this impressionistic seascape primarily using a palette knife. This painting is 12″x18″ acrylic on canvas. I personally stretch each of my canvases by hand. It is a gallery wrapped canvas with the 1 1/2″ deep edges painting dark. The wire hanger at the back makes the piece easy to hang, and it hangs flush with the wall. No framing is necessary. This seascape features a vibrant blue sky with a lavender cloud bank and a deep blue ocean behind a sandy beach and sea oats. These exaggerated colors are mean to evoke a strong emotional response similar the one that I get when I am standing on the beach, smelling the salt air, and listening to the waves crashing.
