On this eve of the new year, we can look back on the past 12 months, muse over our accomplishments, reminisce about the fun times, and hopefully learn something from our failures. But for me, 2016 is so weighed down by negative emotions that I can only bring myself to focus on the next year and how I can make it better. I have several personal goals for myself revolving around health, and relationships, but today I would like to share with your my goals as an artist for 2017.

For numerous reasons I haven’t been completing my daily paintings for the past few months. Completing one of these tiny paintings each day is an important part of my growth as an artist, and I intend to start doing them again, but with some new rules. As I renew my focus on my art, I also want to remind myself everyday of all of the little things that I have in my life to be thankful for. So, this year I am starting a ‘Thankful Project’. Each day (Monday thru Friday) I will complete a tiny painting and I will also jot down something that I am thankful for and post it on my artworkdaily.com website and send it out on Instagram. Also, each painting will be used to create a Thank You card so that I can show others how much I appreciate them and their support.

I would like to invite all of you to join me in my Thankful Project. Create a painting, or a sketch, or a doodle, or whatever your heart desires and write down something that you are thankful for.  If you would like to share it, post it out on Instagram and let the world know what you are thankful for. Turn all of these little artworks into Thank You cards, and let those around you know how much you appreciate them.

Prepared under-paintings for daily paintings

These are tiny under-paintings that I have prepared for my Thankful Project.  Each one will become a daily painting that will be used to create a Thank You card.
